Skill Games Do Not Require License in Bangalore
Bangalore is the state capital of Karnataka in India. The city of Bangalore has been experiencing problems with the police force. Runners of skill games have been told they must obtain a license to run skill games legally. However, the Court sees otherwise.

The High Court in Bangalore has ruled that a license is not required for someone to run skill games in the city. A petition was filed by the Jayanagar Citizens Recreation Association that challenged a police order that stated licenses must be obtained to run skill games.

On Friday the Court ruled that a license was not necessary although police had previously been stressing the need of a license. The petition claimed that direct orders made by police were illegal. The petitioner also reminded the Court of an earlier order which exempted obtaining a license for skill games.

In 2007, the High Court had issued an order that stated: running chess, carom, dart game, poker, lion game, six-collar game, rummy, table tennis and all indoor games do not require a license. The Registrar of Co-operative Societies issued a circular on October 3rd of this year that stated anyone running any type of skill game must obtain a license as per the direction of the Police Commissioner of Bangalore.

Of course the court found this circular unfounded and ruled that anyone can run a skill games operation without obtaining a license.
