Renewal of Mahjong License to be reviewed by Kedah
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak stated that the Kedah government of Alor Setar will be reviewing the renewal of Mahjong license and approval will not be granted automatically. Approval will only be granted after the local council entertainment committees have been consulted. (25/11)

Mahjong Parlor Fire Kills Four People in Shizuoka
Early Tuesday morning a fire gutted a two story mahjong parlor in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. The fire killed four men and three more people were injured and hospitalized during the incident. (19/11)

The 2009 New Zealand Backgammon Championship is set to begin this weekend at Nelson’s Founders Park. The Nelson Backgammon Club organized the event and as of right now only twelve players are competing. (19/11)

The Whalley Village Hall in Ribble Valley is staring a new initiative to help young people in the area. The Hall is offering young people ages eleven to eighteen the opportunity to play snooker for free every Friday night until Christmas. The Space Race is a unique tournament offered at Rummy Royal. Players compete in weekly tournaments to win weekly prizes and then the final week of the month offers the final prize. Alex Borg wins second ranking tournament of the season
Alex Borg is a Malta Snooker champion and he recently won the second ranking tournament of the season. The event was organized by the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association and the event was held at the Pinto Band Club in Qormi. Borg was able to beat Simon Zammit 6-2 in the final. (10/11)

Team USA Wins World Cup of Trick Shots
The Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT hosted the World Cup of Trick Shots on October 29th. Team USA won the title over Team Europe during the team competition in the sport of trick shots. Team USA earned gold medals and $20,000 for being the winning team. (03/11)
