In different areas of the world there differences of opinion when it comes to games of chance and skill games. Many may see a game as one of chance while others may see the game as needed skill to determine the outcome. The Shanghai Masters are in full swing and Ken Doherty began the tournament with confidence in his game. Doherty played well when the tournament started and earned a victory of 5-0 over Aditya Mehta of India in the wild card playoff. (08/09)
Official Cloth of Galveston World Classic Named
The promoters of the Galveston World Classic, Taylor Road Productions, have announced the official cloth of the event. Simonis Cloth will be the official cloth of the event which will feature top pros and amateurs competing for $1 million in prizes. The event is set for September 11th through the 20th and will take place at the Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. (08/09)
Thor Chuan Leong Wins National Snooker Title
Monday night at the A-Que Snooker center in Petaling Jaya, Thor Chuan Leong was able to beat Mohammad Reza Hassan to claim the first place prize and the title of National Snooker Champion. The competition was tough and Leong earned his RM5, 000 winner’s check as he outlasted the competition. (04/09)

The 2009 Bristol Open took place over the weekend and it was Lawrence Powell who earned the title as one of the best backgammon players in the world. Powell had to best Martin Barkwill in the final before he could claim the first place prize. (04/09)

It was recently announced by Taylor Road Productions that Dennis Orcollo and Shane Van Boening will be the next pro players to compete in a $5,000 Challenge Match as part of the Galveston World Classic.
