Policemen Caught Playing Mahjong Instead of Patrolling the Streets

The men decided to gather in a home in Jalan Tebrau and gamble on a game of Mahjong. The five officers are in their 20s and 30s and were dressed in their uniforms and were supposed to be on patrol duty in various parts of the area. Instead they were playing Mahjong and placing bets. (30/10)

National Wheelchair Players Association National Championship Results

The National Wheelchair Players Association National Championships took place this past weekend in Brea, California. Players came from all over to compete in the event and hopefully win the first place prize. The event was hosted by Diamond Billiards and was a $7,500 added tournament. (29/10)

Ryan Day played his hardest but even the strongest comeback could not hold off John Higgins who took home the win at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Glasgow this past weekend. Mahjong Tournament Set for This Weekend at Mahjong Time

Many debate whether the game of poker is a game of skill or chance. If the game can be classified as a game of skill then many countries would be able to enjoy the game online. Junior Billiards Champions to Represent United States Announced

The Junior Billiards Champions who will be representing the United States in the 2008 World Pool Billiard Association Junior World 9-Ball Championships were recently announced by the Billiard Education Foundation. World Championship of Snooker Could Move to China

The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association have a contract with the Sheffield City Council that will see the Snooker World Championships in Sheffield until 2010. Senator Introduces Bill That Would Regulate Online Poker

Legislation was introduced last week by Senator Robert Menedez (D-NJ) that if passed would legally define poker as a skill game. This would create a regulatory environment for the game of poker to be offered online in the United States. Since the passing of the UIGEA, this is the first bill concerning online gambling to be introduced to the Senate. Other legislation similar to this bill has been presented to the House of Representatives. (02/10)

Snooker Academy Begins at Padiham Snooker Center

Last weekend the Paul Hunter Foundation Snooker Academy began teaching young players the game of snooker. The academy is taking place at Paul Rinaldi’s Padiham Snooker Center. Twenty seven young kids were on hand to participate in the first part of a ten week process. (02/10)

World Series of Gin Rummy Tournament Scheduled for November

John Hainline’s World Series of Gin Rummy will be presenting The Holiday Classic, a gin rummy tournament at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 16th. The tournament will take place through the 19th and be a non smoking event. (01/10)
